DUKE LEMUR CENTER

This research, conservation and education center houses 250 prosimian primates and the largest population of lemurs outside of their native Madagascar. Lemurs Live! Tours year round by appointment only Mon-Sat. No walk-in visitors. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for 60+ and children 3-12. Other tours and interactions include Walking with Lemurs, Behind the Scenes and Painting with Lemurs.

Morehead Planetarium

The first planetarium to be built on a U.S. college, Morehead features a 68-foot planetarium dome Star Theater, the NASA Digital Theater, exhibits, the UNC Visitor's Center, art galleries, a rose garden and a massive sundial. Its multimedia shows and live star shows are narrated by planetarium staff members. Admission is $7.25 for adults and $6 for children, seniors and students.

This year, we have added some new competitions that you may want to consider entering, including two on-the-spot competitions, a Kids Sugar Cube Building Contest for ages 4 through 12, and a Team Cake Decorating Contest, where a team of two will compete in a timed decorating contest. Other new contests include a Pre-Apprentice Pre-Engineering Mobile Robotics Contest and a Cavy Costume Contest. We are also adding a Choral Competition featuring middle and high school choirs.

CAROLINA BASKETBALL MUSEUM

This new 8000-sq-ft. state-of-the-art museum in UNC's Ernie Williamson Athletic Center honors Carolina Basketball and the rich tradition of UNC Tar Heel basketball. The first floor features a 'Game Day' theme where visitors enter a theater for pre-game build-up, then into the main museum space with interactive displays and memorabilia from Carolina's storied program on the UNC court.
